Carnage was Awesome! One of the best Cons we’ve done. The Lake Morey Resort in Fairlee, VT is beautiful. Our room, which was HUGE, had a balcony that overlooked the lake and mountains, incredible! And the Carnage guys really had it together too. When we got there are room was ready, our set up area was ready. Everything went smoothly. Major props to those guys for running a great Con!
So on to the Carnage!
Our first session was Friday night and it was booked solid. We had 16 players plus a few more for the military and surprise monsters. And with only Scott and I as GM’s we were worried it would go slowly and painfully. This wasn’t the case at all. All the players were great, and caught on so fast that we were still able to get through six turns. Kei Shu Lite, The Kaiju Slayer, will go down in history as the first Mazer Tank operator to take down a Monster (Baragon) and survive. GMS has its first cagey veteran! It was a hard fought battle and the city was all but wasted but the Kilaaks pulled out a 53 point victory over the Planet X aliens. And, Gamera (Frank) a Kilaak was the King of the Monsters with 101 points.
The Second Session was on Saturday afternoon, and with some extra GM support from our friend Tony, and a long time player and Carnage staffer Mike, we were able to run 18 players over 8 turns! Thanks for the help guys. This battle was crazy! All but one of the surprise monsters came out, and only 10 buildings were left standing. Fate seemed to be against Giant Robot (Cliff), and Gaigan (Erica). Both Kilaaks however, despite playing well and doing tons of damage to buildings and monsters, still ended up being just short of the mark, which set up the other monsters to swoop in and get the kill shots. But the Kilaaks as a team still somehow won a blow out victory over the Xians 625 to 463! Mechagodzila (Wylie, who lived up to his name) another Kilaak, was crowned the K.O.M. with 127 points!
It was a great weekend all around. We saw some old friends and made some new ones. I had a great time and hope everyone else did as well.
